Moenchengladbach (dpa) – World champion Christoph Kramer is returning to Borussia Moenchengladbach on a five-year contract after passing a medical check, the Bundesliga club announced Wednesday.
The 25-year-old defensive midfielder signed a deal with Gladbach until 2021, moving back to the team after one season with Bayer Leverkusen.
Reports said that Gladbach paid a transfer fee of about 15 million euros (17 million dollars) for Kramer, who had played the two previous seasons with Borussia Moenchengladbach.
Kramer was not nominated for Euro 2016 by German coach Joachim Loew.
