CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, México. 1 de octubre de 2017.- Tuvieron que pasar 32 años para que la ciudad de México volviera a vivir los horrores de un terremoto, a vivir la desesperanza de ver perdidos a seres queridos y sus pertenencias y aunque en esta ocasión los inmuebles deportivos no sufrieron mayores daños, sólo el Edificio de la Confederación Deportiva Mexicana sufrió pequeños “rasguños” nada de consideración.

Eso sí para evitar mayores riesgos las autoridades de la capital mexicana, tanto federales como locales, decidieron suspender todos los partidos programados para el reciente fin de semana, tanto en lo concerniente al fútbol como en otras manifestaciones donde tuvieran que concentrarse miles de personas. Aunque sí el Estadio Azteca y el de la Ciudad de los Deportes, sede del equipo Cruz Azul, resultaron con afectaciones menores, que seguramente serán verificadas por peritos antes de llevar a cabo ahí algún partido.
En México, el mundo deportivo se ha unido a los esfuerzos de la ciudadanía para ayudar a los afectados y es así como los jugadores del Club América con su presidente Emilio Azcarraga Jean a la cabeza, se unieron a los voluntarios para llevar y juntar víveres y otros implementos para los afectados por los sismos.
Pero la labor no para ahí, Necaxa en Aguascalientes, Rayados del Monterrey en la Sultana y Xolos en Tijuana han convertido sus sedes de entrenamiento y estadios en sedes de acopio para recolectar vivieres y herramientas que son utilizadas en las zonas de desastre.
La solidaridad del mundo deportivo se ha volcado en ayuda para todos los damnificados de este sismo de 7.2 que azotó a las ciudades de México, Puebla, Morelos y los estados de Oaxaca y Chiapas. Además, han surgido iniciativas privadas de jugadores como Oribe Peralta o Yasser Corona, quienes han convocado a contactar ONGs de ayuda. “Por favor contactarlos y poder hacer llegar ayuda a las personas que lo necesiten. Otros equipos como el Club León se unieron a los esfuerzos de varios clubes de fútbol de la primera división mexicana al convertirse en voluntarios y prestar sus servicios para ayudar a la recolección de víveres y herramientas para los damnificados siguiendo el ejemplo de la Liga Mexicana de fútbol.
Por otra parte, hay que decir que el edificio que por mucho tiempo albergó las Oficinas del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo, en pleno corazón de la Zona Rosa, en Genova 33, sufrió serios daños y lamentablemente tendrá que ser demolido, y con ello se irán grandes momentos en la vida de ese organismo.

NO BIG DAMAGES, BUT SPORT AFFECTED BY EARTHQUAKE IN MEXICO
