BOGOTÁ, Colombia, 13 de octubre de 2019.- Sin duda alguna los fans de Roger Federer están en todo el mundo, y en el continente americano se han dejado ver en todo su esplendor, pues en cuestión de 24 horas o menos, se han vendido miles de entradas para las exhibiciones que hará el suizo en 5 países del continente americano.

En Colombia, por ejemplo, durante la primera etapa de venta de boletas, los fanáticos del ganador de 20 torneos de Grand Slam y 102 títulos en el ATP World Tour, se llevaron todas las existencias en tiempo record y durante la segunda etapa la historia fue la misma, en menos de 3 horas, miles de boletas fueron compradas.  

Y es que no importa que la visita de Roger en cinco países de América sea por exhibición, lo realmente importante es que ‘Su Majestad’ podrá ser visto en vivo y en directo, placer que no muchos tienen.

Historias y excentricidades como personas declarando su admiración por Federer, fanáticos que lo siguen por todos los escenarios del mundo para verlo jugar, hasta empresarios interesados en tener la oportunidad de escuchar a este practicante de «filantropía efectiva» tal como lo bautizó Bill Gates, uno de sus tradicionales compañeros de juego en parejas para recaudar recursos para causas benéficas, sirven como antesala y expectativa para este duelo que promete dejar huella en la memoria y los corazones de todos sus espectadores.

Carolina Cartagena, colombiana de 39 años, y aficionada del tenis desde muy corta edad, ha viajado a torneos como el US Open, Miami Open y Roland-Garros 2019, y aunque lo ha hecho con el firme propósito de verlo jugar, no ha tenido éxito. El Duelo Histórico en Tierra de Campeones Colombia, se convierte en una nueva oportunidad para hacer realidad el sueño de ver al mejor del mundo.

«Hace algunos años viajamos con mi hermano al US Open y no logramos verlo, fue muy triste para nosotros. Luego en el Miami Open nos ocurrió algo increíble, porque hubo una tormenta eléctrica y ya al otro día viajábamos y no pudimos postergar el vuelo.

Este año en el Roland-Garros la emoción no se podía medir porque además de estar en París, una ciudad maravillosa, íbamos a ver al más grande del mundo en tremendo evento. Justo en ese partido le tocó jugar en la cancha secundaria y yo ya había comprado mi entrada para esa fecha en la cancha principal, intenté incluso cambiar la boleta, llegué de primera y aunque madrugué muchísimo, no lo logré», cuenta Carolina.

Otra historia para destacar es la de Carolina Montes Gallo, nacida en Medellín y seguidora de Federer desde el año 2009. «Lo vi por primera vez en un partido contra Rafael Nadal en el Australian Open y desde ahí lo sigo. Me enamoré de su tenis y su calidad humana. Con mi prima hermana Natalia Gallo, que también es fanática de él, tuvimos la oportunidad de conocerlo personalmente en el 2011 en el Sony Ericsson Open, ahora Miami Open, donde logramos su primer autógrafo, conocer su calidad humana y la entrega a sus fans», dijo.

«En el 2012 también estuvimos acompañándolo en el partido de exhibición contra Tsonga y también tuvimos la oportunidad de estar con él y que nos firmara el cartel que siempre llevamos a sus juegos. La última vez que nos firmó el cartel fue en 2014 en el Miami Open. Estamos muy emocionadas de tenerlo de nuevo en nuestro país», finalizó. Natalia Gallo, por su parte resalta que juega tenis desde que estaba en la universidad y ve los partidos de Roger para perfeccionar su juego «su forma de jugar hace perfecto y sencillo este deporte», puntualizó.

La visita a Chile, Argentina, Colombia, México y Ecuador, de uno de los atletas más competitivos en la historia del tenis para un partido de exhibición contra la revelación del deporte, el alemán Alexander Zverev, incentiva a miles de fanáticos del tenista suizo, no solo de esos países sino del mundo, a hacer hasta lo imposible por poder ver en directo a la leyenda y al hombre más influyente en el mundo según la revista Times, gracias a sus esfuerzos por ayudar a la niñez vulnerable.

Just that game he had to play Court 2 and I had already bought my ticket for that date for the Centre Court, I even tried to change the ticket, I was the first one to arrive and although I got up early, I did not succeed», says Carolina.
