BOGOTÁ, Colombia, 16 de mayo de 2019.- Los periodistas deportivos del continente americano, ultiman detalles para lo que será su participación en los IV Juegos Deportivos AIPS América, que en esta oportunidad se realizarán en Floridablanca, Colombia y en los que participarán 19 países; Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Guatemala, México, Nicaragua, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, Puerto Rico, República Dominicana, Surinam, Trinidad y Tobago, Uruguay, Venezuela y Colombia.

Una nueva oportunidad para que los Periodistas Deportivos del continente americano sientan en carne propia lo que es ser deportista, está por llegar. Serán cinco días (del 20 al 25 de mayo), en los que se cambiará el papel y el lápiz, el portátil y la grabadora, por los tenis y el uniforme. Una oportunidad para que los periodistas de los 19 países participantes, no solo compitan por las medallas, sino que entiendan la importancia que tiene su rol dentro de la sociedad, así como que los deportistas no son máquinas.

En las tres pasadas ediciones, muchos han sentido la tristeza y hasta el mal genio y otros, la alegría y el gozo, mismas sensaciones que sienten los deportistas de alto rendimiento a los que, muchas veces criticamos cuando no logran el resultado positivo.

Participar en estos Juegos, es una manera de ponerse en la piel de aquellos que, día a día sueñan con representar de la mejor manera a sus países, y acá no hay mucha diferencia. Ser elegido para estas justas internacionales es motivo de orgullo y así lo han dejado ver algunos de los colegas colombianos como Dairo Pérez Salas, Director y Presentador del programa El Internacional del Deporte y quien estará participando en atletismo y fútbol de salón, él en su cuenta de Facebook escribió: “Siempre será un orgullo representar a mi país. Gracias a Dios por regalarme el don de ser deportista. IV Juegos Panamericanos”.

Juan Hernando Suárez Director del Periódico El Deportivo del Llano por su parte expresó: “Recibo orgulloso la convocatoria oficial para representar por cuarta ocasión consecutiva a mi país en los Juegos AIPS América, con sede en Floridablanca y Bucaramanga del 19 al 25 de mayo. Entre más de 700 comunicadores de Colombia, 16 fuimos seleccionados para competir en la cita más grande del periodismo deportivo donde asistirán 19 países del continente, siendo además el único llanero en el listado. Gracias a Acord Colombia por confiar nuevamente en nosotros.

La responsabilidad para Dairo, Juan Hernando y los otros 14 periodistas-deportistas de Colombia no es poca, pues éste país ha sido el campeón absoluto de las tres ediciones anteriores y el único objetivo es retener el título.

Y quitarle la hegemonía a Colombia no es tarea fácil, sin embargo, el mexicano Oscar Osvaldo Huitrado Martínez, Editor Deportivo para NTR Medios de Comunicación, en Zacatecas, está listo para arrebatarle medallas a los cafeteros. En esta edición 2019 de los Juegos AIPS América participará en los 400m, 200m y 100 metros del atletismo y hará parte del equipo de futbol de salón. “Mi objetivo es poner en alto nuevamente el nombre de mi país, junto a mis compañeros de la Federación Mexicana de Cronistas Deportivos (Femecrode), pues he estado presente en estos Juegos desde su primera edición en Medellín, en 2013, obteniendo medalla de oro en alguna de las pruebas atléticas. Por lo que Bucaramanga representa una oportunidad más para lograr tal objetivo, además de ampliar la convivencia deportiva y estrechar aún más los lazos de amistad que hay con los colegas del continente”.

Por cuarta ocasión tendré la dicha de representar a México y Femecrode en los Juegos AIPS América, ahora en Colombia, del 20 al 25 de mayo próximos.

Argentina no se queda atrás y con Pablo Abelleira, Periodista y Narrador de baloncesto y fútbol del Canal 14 en Santiago del Estero, esta nación está concentrada en sacar los mejores resultados en Floridablanca. Pablo hará parte de los competidores en las pruebas de atletismo en 1.500m y 4x100m, además participará en el deporte ciencia, ajedrez y conformará también el equipo de fútbol de salón. “Por supuesto que uno va con el objetivo colgarse una medalla, no vamos a negar los periodistas deportivos que tenemos ese sentimiento de competencia y muchos somos deportistas frustrados. Creo que el objetivo principal de estos juegos es confraternizar, hacer amigos a lo largo de toda América. Tengo los mejores recuerdos de Manaos y voy con todas las expectativas de compartir, de pasarla bien y de competir limpiamente, si toca quedarse con una victoria obviamente que va a ser una profunda alegría”.

Chile, que también dijo presente, tendrá como uno de sus representantes a Ignacio Pérez Tuesta, Presentador de Deportes en Radio Sonar FM y Radio Sport. “Este año voy a participar en atletismo, y estoy muy contento porque he participado en casi todas las ediciones de los juegos, desde la época en la que fui vicepresidente del circulo de Periodistas Deportivos de Chile, después cuando fui presidente y ahora que voy como un periodista más del Círculo; motivación que recibí del presidente Danilo Díaz y felizmente me pude hacer el espacio y el tiempo y viajar y será un honor representar a Chile y al Círculo en atletismo. Igualmente, estará José Luis Fernández con la delegación y será importante el hecho de volver a compartir con amigos y colegas de AIPS América, son años de conocernos y yo le doy gran valor a la amistad”.

Y el Caribe no se podía quedar atrás, uno de los países que estará en competencia es Surinam, con su Presidente Desney Romeo a la cabeza y que llegará a Floridablanca con 8 Periodistas-Deportistas. “Competiremos en atletismo, bolos, billar, fútbol de salón y tenis de mesa. Para nosotros es un privilegio hacer parte de los Juegos AIPS América, los cuales unen a los colegas de las américas. Esperamos terminar en el top tres de alguna de las categorías en las que estaremos compitiendo. Pero lo más importante es la hermandad que estos juegos trae”.

En la actualidad, la participación en los juegos es, en un 99.9% masculina, en la primera edición Medellín 2013, Ecuador aportó una mujer, en la segunda realizada en Manaos 2015, estuvieron dos representantes de una de Colombia y una de Cuba, para la tercera también organizada en Manaos 2018 repitió Colombia con una representante y para este 2019, se espera al menos participación de 3 mujeres.

Los Juegos Deportivos AIPS América unen a la familia de periodistas de las américas, y además nos demuestran que entrenar, preparase y competir no es tarea fácil.

THE AMERICAN CONTINENT JOURNALISTS, READY FOR THE 4TH AIPS AMERICAN GAMES

BOGOTÁ, Colombia, May 16, 2019.- Sports journalists of the American continent, finalize details for what will be their participation at the 4th AIPS America Sports Games, that in this opportunity will be held in Floridablanca, Colombia and in which ones, Sports Journalists from 19 countries will participate; Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Venezuela and Colombia

A new opportunity for Sports Journalists in the Americas to feel first-hand what it means to be an athlete, is coming. It will be five days (from May 20 to 25), in which the paper and the pencil, the laptop and the tape recorder will be exchanged for the tennis and the uniform. An opportunity for journalists from the 19 participating countries, not only to compete for medals, but to understand the importance of their role in society, as well as that athletes are not machines.

In the past three editions, many have felt the sadness and even the bad temper and others, the joy and happiness, same sensations felt by high performance athletes who, many times we criticize when they do not achieve the positive result.

Participating in these games is a way to put yourself in the shoes of those who day after day dream of representing their countries in the best way, and here there is not much difference. Being chosen for these international jousts is a feeling of pride and so, this have been showed by some of the Colombian colleagues such as Dairo Pérez Salas, Director and Presenter of the El Internacional del Deporte online program, and who will be participating in athletics and indoor football, Dairo in his Facebook account wrote: «It will always be a pride to represent my country. Thank God for giving me the gift of being an athlete. IV Pan-American Games». 

Juan Hernando Suárez Director of the El Deportivo del Llano newspaper said: «I proudly receive the official call to represent my country for the fourth consecutive time in the AIPS America Games, based in Bucaramanga from May 19 to 25. Among more than 700 journalists from Colombia, 16 were selected to compete in the largest event in sports journalism where more than 20 countries from the continent will attend, being also the only llanero in the list. Dairo, Juan Hernando and the other 14 journalists-athletes of Colombia responsibility is not small, because this country has been the absolute champion of the three previous editions and their only aim is to retain the title.

For the fourth time I will have the pleasure of representing Mexico and Femecrode in the AIPS America Games, now in Colombia, from May 20 to 25 next.

Argentina is not far behind and with Pablo Abelleira, Journalist and Narrator of basketball and football at Channel 14 in Santiago del Estero, this nation is focused on getting the best results in Floridablanca. Pablo will be part of the competitors in the athletics events at 1,500m and 4x100m, will also participate in the science sports, chess and will also make up the indoor football team. «Of course one goes with the goal to hang a medal, we sport journalists will not deny that we have that feeling of competition and many of us are frustrated athletes. I think the main aim of these games is to fraternize, make friends throughout America. I have the best memories of Manaus and I am going with all the expectations of sharing, of having a good time and of competing fairly, if it is to go with a victory obviously that will be a deep joy».

Chile, which also said present, will have Ignacio Pérez Presenter of Sports on Radio Sonar FM and Radio Sport as one of its representatives «This year I will participate in athletics, and I am very happy because I have participated in almost all editions of the games, since the time I was Vice President of the Circle of Sports Journalists of Chile, later when I was President and now that I am going as one more journalist from the Circle, motivated by President Danilo Díaz and happily I could make space and time and will travel, and it will be an honor to represent Chile and the Circle in athletics. Likewise, José Luis Fernández will be part of Chile Team, and it will be important to return to share with friends and colleagues of AIPS America, it is years of knowing each other and I give great value to friendship «.

And the Caribbean could not be left behind, one of the countries that will be in competition is Suriname, with its President Desney Romeo leading the Team, and who will arrive in Floridablanca with 8 Journalists-Athletes. «We will compete in athletics, bowling, billiards, indoor football and table tennis. For us it is a privilege to be part of the AIPS America Games, which unite the colleagues of the Americas. We hope to finish in the top three of any of the categories in which we will be competing. But the most important thing is the brotherhood that these games bring».

Currently, the participants in the games are, in a 99.9% men’s, in the first edition Medellín 2013, Ecuador participated with one woman, in the second held in Manaus 2015, there were two representatives one from Colombia and one from Cuba, for the third also organized in Manaus 2018 Colombia repeated with one journalist and for this 2019, at least 3 women are expected to participate.

The AIPS America Sports Games unite the family of journalists from the Americas, and also show us that training, preparing and competing is not an easy task.
