BOGOTÁ, Colombia, 29 de diciembre de 2019.- Han pasado más de cinco meses desde el inicio de los Juegos Panamericanos Lima 2019, y hace unos días, el Comité Ejecutivo de Panam Sports ha oficializado el Cuadro Oficial de Medallas luego de aprobar las decisiones y descalificaciones tras las revisiones minuciosas de los casos de dopaje, por parte de la Comisión Disciplinaria.
En total se tomaron 1.905 muestras, 1.652 de orina y 253 de sangre, de las cuales 15 tuvieron resultado positivo.
Los bolicheros de Puerto Rico fueron descalificados y México subió al tercer lugar. / Puerto Rican Bowlers were disqualified and México rose to third place.

Andressa Oliveira de Brasil quien había recibido la medalla de plata fue descalificada, ahora la medalla de bronce le corresponde a la cubana Denia Caballero. / Andressa Oliveira from Brazil who received the silver medal, was disqualified, now the bronze medal is for the cuban Denia Caballero.
Dentro de los cambios más importantes están el ascenso de Argentina del sexto al quinto lugar, las dos medallas de bronce más que sumó Perú que le significan un total de 41 y el nuevo noveno lugar de República Dominicana.
“Hemos sido muy cuidadosos con el tema del doping en los Juegos Panamericanos de Lima 2019, respetando todos los protocolos, los procesos y las audiencias que corresponden. Luego de nuestra reunión de Comité Ejecutivo aprobamos oficialmente las decisiones de la Comisión Disciplinaria y las respectivas descalificaciones de los atletas involucrados, y esto ha generado los cambios que hoy estamos informando. Con esto, cerramos oficialmente el medallero de nuestra competencia”, señaló el Secretario General de Panam Sports Ivar Sisniega, así lo publicó la oficina de comunicaciones de Panam Sports.

The new Official Medal Table of the Pan American Games Lima 2019 has been

BOGOTA, Colombia, December 29, 2019.- Five months have passed since the start of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, and few days ago, the Panam Sports Executive Committee has formalized the Official Medal Table, before approving decisions and disqualifications after thorough reviews of doping cases, by the Disciplinary Commission.
In total, 1905 samples were taken; 1652 of urine and 253 of blood, of which 15 had a positive result.
Among the most important changes are the rise of Argentina from sixth to fifth place, the two bronze medals that Peru added, which means a total of 41 and the new ninth place of Dominican Republic.
“We have been very careful with the issue of doping at the Pan American Games of Lima 2019, respecting all the corresponding protocols and processes. After our Executive Committee meeting, we have officially approved the decisions of the Disciplinary Commission and the respective disqualifications of the athletes involved, and this has generated the changes we are reporting today. With this, we close the medal table of our Games,” said Panam Sports Secretary General, Ivar Sisniega, it has been published by the Head of Press of Panam Sports.
