Munich (dpa) – Germany will have no clear order between the posts behind undisputed number one Manuel Neuer at Euro 2016, goalkeeper coach Andreas Koepke told Tuesday’s edition of Kicker sports magazine.

«We have never done this and isn’t necessary either because all can be on the subs’ bench. We will just see who may be a little better.

We rather have a number 2a and a 2b,» Koepke said.

Germany coach Joachim Loew and his staff including Koepke must select two keepers to join Neuer in the squad for at the June 10-July 10 tournament in France.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen (Barcelona), Bernd Leno (Bayer Leverkusen), Kevin Trapp (Paris Saint Germain) and Ron-Robert Zieler (Hanover) the candidates. Zieler was part of the 2014 World Cup winning squad.

Trapp or Leno could see their Germany debut, or Zieler a fifth cap, later Tuesday in a friendly against Italy after Neuer had to quit with a stomach bug.

Koepke named Ter Stegen’s situation at the Spanish champions barca «difficult» because he only features in the Champions League and Spanish cup, and not in the league.
