BOGOTÁ, Colombia, 30 de abril de 2018.- El skateboarding, deporte que hace parte de la World Skate y que estará presente en los Juegos Olímpicos Tokio 2020, ha definido el sistema de clasificación, para éstas, las justas multideportivas más importantes del planeta. El anuncio lo hizo desde Lausana, Suiza, Sabatino Aracu, Presidente de la World Skate, máxima rectora del patinaje en el mundo, quien además informó que la decisión se adoptó conjuntamente con el Comité Olímpico Internacional.
Tras varias reuniones, quedó establecido que cada Comité Olímpico Nacional tendrá un cupo máximo de 3 deportistas por evento, y que la clasificación se hará por el sistema de ranking de la World Skate y del Olympic World Skateboarding, el cual comenzará el 1 de enero de 2019 y finalizará el 31 de mayo de 2020.

Para sumar puntos en ese escalafón clasificatorio para Tokio 2020, se tendrán en cuenta eventos como:
Campeonatos Nacionales Oficiales de sus respectivas Federaciones
Campeonatos Continentales de las Organizaciones Oficiales
Eventos World Skate SLS Pro Tour (Street)
Eventos World Skate Pro Tour (Park TBA)
Mundiales World Skate/SLS
World Championships (Street)
World Skate World Championships (Park TBA).
Alberto Herrera Ayala, presidente de la Confederación Panamericana de Patinaje (CPP) manifestó que: “Hemos recibido con beneplácito esta importante noticia que nos entrega el señor Sabatino Aracu. Esto nos permite continuar con el proceso que llevamos a través de las diferentes federaciones nacionales, con unas reglas establecidas, y un sistema de clasificación que le brinda la oportunidad a todos los skater del mundo de conseguir el sueño de participar en unos Juegos Olímpicos”, así lo publicó la página oficial de la CPP.
El ranking mundial clasificará 80 patinadores; 40 mujeres y 40 hombres de los cuales, 40 serán en la modalidad Park y los otros en Street.
Hasta el momento, y desde que el skateboarding fue incluido en el programa de los Juegos Olímpicos 2020, en el continente americano se han realizado capacitaciones para estar actualizados y tener un proceso adecuado a las reglamentaciones deportivas mundiales. Además, se han adelantado campeonatos nacionales y ya se llevó a cabo el I Panamericano de Skateboarding en la ciudad de Bogotá, Colombia, adicionalmente, se prepara el II Panamericano, el cual se realizará en Lima, Perú.
Este conocimiento nos permite ahora contar con unas bases sólidas para seguir realizando nuestros eventos nacionales y continentales que entregarán puntos para el ranking mundial y serán el camino ideal para que nuestros deportistas lleguen a Tokio 2020”, expresó el presidente Herrera.

SKATEBOARDING DEFINED SYSTEM CLASSIFICATION AHEAD TOKYO 2020

BOGOTÁ, Colombia, April 30, 2018.- Skateboarding, a sport that is part of the World Skate and will be at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, has defined the classification system, for these, the most important multi-sport event on the planet. The announcement was made in Lausanne, Switzerland, by Sabatino Aracu, President of the World Skate, the world’s skating body, who also informed that the decision was adopted jointly with the International Olympic Committee.
After several meetings, it was established that each National Olympic Committee will have a maximum quota of 3 athletes per event, and that the classification will be made by the ranking system of the World Skate and the Olympic World Skateboarding, which will begin on January 1st 2019 and will end on May 31st 2020.
In order to add points in the Tokyo 2020 qualifying ranking, athletes can participate in events such as:
Official National Championships of their respective Federations
Continental Championships of Official Organizations
World Skate Events SLS Pro Tour (Street)
World Skate Pro Tour Events (Park TBA)
World Cup Skate / SLS
World Championships (Street)
World Skate World Championships (Park TBA).
