BOGOTÁ, Colombia January 27, 2023. Once again Colombia will play at home in the Davis Cup. After the draw in which Great Britain was defined as its opponent, the Colombians were favored in the draw that was also brought forward to decide which country would act as local, taking into account that this is the first time that the two nations will face each other in the most important tennis tournament by nations in the world, so the locality had to be defined that way.
From the moment the rival country was known, the Colombian Tennis Federation began the preparation of the series, deciding details such as the place to play the matches and the surface. For this purpose, the Pueblo Viejo Country Club, located in Cota, a municipality near Bogotá, was the chosen place and it was defined that it will be played on the Main Coliseum Court and on clay. The matches will take place on February 3-4, 2023, «this is an important time for the club, 25 years ago we opened the doors contributing to the development of the members, the community, the region and the country. Being the headquarters of the series against Great Britain allows us to celebrate, enjoy and support one of the emblematic event for national sport», said Andrés Santiago Yepes, president of the Pueblo Viejo Country Club. Currently the Club has 7 courts available for all tennis players, including indoor courts.
Colombia
It will be a historic series, it will be written that these two nations met for the first time on Colombian soil. The local team will be made up by the singles players Daniel Galán, current No.67 of the ATP and Nicolás Mejía No.259 in the world ranking. The doubles players will be Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah, former No.1 in the world and currently in position 29. There will also be Nicolás Barrientos, a player who may be designated to play in both singles and doubles.
Britain
The team led by Leon Smith will arrive in Colombia with two players who are currently in the top 30 of the ATP singles ranking such as Cameron Norrie No.12 and Dan Evans No.30 and with a duo that is in the top 5 in the world, made up of Neal Skupski and Joe Salisbury. The other player is Jack Draper. The Europeans have been Davis Cup champions 10 times, however the last time was 8 years ago, even so it cannot be ignored that it is a team with great players with international success.

Other series
Two other countries from the American continent will be in competition. Chile at home will play against Kazakhstan and Argentina will travel to Finland.
Chile on February 4-5 will receive Kazakhstan. The history of Chile began 94 years ago with the participation of the Torralva brothers. For this series the team will be made up of Cristian Garín, Alejandro Tabilo, Nicolás Jarry, Tomás Barrios and Gonzalo Lama. Captain Nicolás Massú
Argentina champion in 2016 will travel to Finland. The second series between these two countries will be played at the Espoo Metro Areena on February 4-5.
