CALI, Colombia, 29 de octubre de 2020.- «Sin voluntarios no hay Juegos», esa es una frase tan repetida como verdadera cuando un país sede o Comité Local construye la base para la organización de cualquier evento deportivo, ya sea Olímpico, Mundial, Panamericano o Sudamericano.
Es que los voluntarios por siempre han representado el corazón y el motor de todos los eventos, porque ahí se evidencia el verdadero espíritu olímpico de amistad, unión y compañerismo entre jóvenes y adultos que por el solo hecho de estar junto a los grandes deportistas del mundo y de ayudar al éxito de los Juegos, son capaces de dejar escuelas, universidades, trabajos, y familia para cumplir lo que para muchos representa un estilo de vida.
Es que, si bien la mayoría de los jóvenes son del país o ciudad sede del evento, hay personas que viajan miles de kilómetros pagándose todos los costos, para ser parte de las fiestas del ciclo olímpico y sentirse parte de estos eventos.
Por eso no es de extrañarse que en este grupo de miles de jóvenes existan muchos amigos, que viajan por el mundo, y que han creado una verdadera comunidad de voluntarios de eventos deportivos.
Se trabaja y mucho es cierto, pero la experiencia de poder compartir con grandes figuras del deporte mundial y olímpico, y vivir los Juegos por dentro, es una vivencia que no todos pueden contar y que representa para la mayoría, una de las experiencias mas enriquecedoras e inolvidables de sus vidas.
Para el evento deportivo de jóvenes más importante del mundo en los próximos años, los Juegos Panamericanos Junior de Cali-Valle 2021, se lanzó este miércoles el proceso de captación de voluntarios para esta cita continental, donde se espera a reunir más de 3.000 personas.
«Los voluntarios siempre han sido el corazón de cada uno de los Juegos Panamericanos. Ellos representan la alegría, la fiesta, el color, las ganas y la motivación de deportistas, entrenadores y dirigentes. Ellos son el motor del evento. Sin ellos, los Juegos no se podrían hacer. Desde ya hago el llamado a todos los jóvenes y adultos colombianos a que se inscriban y puedan vivir esta increíble experiencia de ser voluntarios. Lo van a pasar increíble, conocerán a grandes deportistas del continente, y con su aporte, ayudarán a Colombia y a toda América a tener una fiesta deportiva inolvidable», indicó el Presidente de Panam Sports Neven Ilic.
Para ser voluntario de esta gran justa deportiva solo necesitas ser mayor de 16 años al 1 de enero de 2021. Si eres menor de 18 años, debes contar con autorización de tus padres. VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION BEGINS AS THE «HEART» OF CALI 2021 BEGINS TO BEAT

CALI, Colombia, October 28, 2020).- «Without volunteers there are no Games,» is a universal truth throughout the Olympic Movement, as volunteers have proven time and again to be essential for the organization of any sporting event at the Olympic, World, Pan American or sub-regional levels.
Volunteers have always represented the heart and soul of these events because they embody the true Olympic spirit of friendship, union and camaraderie. They bridge the gap between the youth and the adults by the mere fact of being surrounded by incredible athletes while doing their part to make the Games successful in a variety of ways. Some take time away from their studies, their jobs or their family to fulfill their dream of helping others.
Although many volunteers are from the country or city hosting the event, there are also many who travel thousands of miles just to be a part of the Olympic Movement and these incredible festivals of sport. Many of these thousands of people, both young and old, have created a strong community of volunteers who travel the world to make these great Games possible.
While it is sometimes hard and precise work, the experience of sharing moments with incredible world-class athletes and being a part of the team that delivers the Games is truly unique, and for many represents one of the most enriching and unforgettable events of their lives.
Today, people throughout the world can now register to become a part of this team of volunteers for the most important youth sports event in the world in the coming years, the Cali 2021 Junior Pan American Games. More than 3,000 people are expected to be selected to help ensure the first Junior Pan American Games in history are a success.

To be a volunteer for these historic Games, registrants must be at least 16 years old as of January 1, 2021. Those who are under the age of 18 must have parental consent to register.
