Augsburg, Germany (dpa) – Augsburg could be without Piotr Trochowski for the rest of the season as the former Germany midfielder is nursing a calf muscle injury, a local news report said on Saturday.
Trochowski, 32, injured the calf in a February 14 match against leaders Bayern Munich but the Ausgsburger Allgemeine quoted coach Markus Weinzierl he seems to have torn a bundle of muscles which would sideline him for several more weeks.
Augsburg lie just above the danger zone in 15th place in a season which runs until mid-May. Trochowski came to Augsburg at the start of the campaign on a one-year deal.
