LAUSANNE, March 3, 2023 – Registration for the 85th AIPS Congress is now open. Seoul, Republic of Korea, is ready to welcome hundreds of delegates from around the world from May 8-12, 2023. In those days, Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel & Serviced Residences will provide a brilliant atmosphere for intense discussions and debates on issues concerning sports and sports journalism, including the revision of the AIPS Statutes. The much-anticipated AIPS Sport Media Awards 2022 ceremony will take place on May 9 and the Korean Sports Press Union (KSPU) has also planned several cultural programmes for attendees.
HOW TO REGISTER Executive Committee members, honorary members, delegates of national sports press associations and observers have to register their participation by simply clicking on the 85th AIPS Congress banner at the top of the www.aipsmedia.com home page or clicking here.
DEADLINE The deadline for registration is April 17, 2023. It is mandatory for all participants to submit an online registration.
AIPS SPORT MEDIA AWARDS 2022 CEREMONY On the sidelines of the most important gathering of sports journalists across the world, finalists of the AIPS Sport Media Awards 2022 will be invited to Seoul for the awards gala, where the winners will be announced. The fifth edition of the most prestigious international prize for sports journalism received 1830 submissions in total from a record of 138 different nationalities representing five continents.
STATUTES ON THE FRONT BURNER Five months ago the progress made on the revision of the AIPS Statutes was discussed during the 84th Congress in Rome. A few more changes have been made since then and the statutes will be presented to the Congress in Seoul for approval.
TENTATIVE CONGRESS PROGRAMME As usual, the Congress will feature Executive Committee and continental meetings, panel discussions as well as presentations. It is also important to note that AIPS will be 100 years old in 2024 and is looking forward to celebrating this significant milestone in the best possible manner.
