CARACAS, Venezuela, 23 de abril de 2021.– Yulimar Rojas no solo es la mejor de atleta de Venezuela sino del mundo en la modalidad de Salto Triple, es medallista bolivariana, suramericana, panamericana, mundial y olímpica. Es bicampeona mundial bajo techo y al aire libre y tricampeona mundial en pista cubierta larga, y ostenta el record mundial bajo techo. Ha participado también en pruebas de Salto Alto y Salto Largo, en las que registra marcas personales de 1.87m y 6.57m respectivamente, además, su marca de Salto Triple de 15.43m es actualmente, record sudamericano y del mundo en pista bajo techo, el cual le arrebató a la rusa Tatiana Lebedeva quien desde 2004 había registrado 15.36m.
PANDEMIA 2020
Poco antes del inicio de la pandemia, el 21 de febrero de 2020, Yulimar batió el record mundial bajo techo, ese 15.43m, en el último santo de la última competencia del World Indoor Tour que se realizó en Madrid, España. Pero aun así y con todo ese palmarés, la reina del salto no fue ajena a la pandemia y como todos los atletas estuvo en confinamiento, pero en lo que llamaríamos una cuarentena activa, donde el entrenamiento fue constante dentro de las medidas posibles.
«A menos de 100 días para Tokio, ha sido un año muy difícil. No hemos dejado de entrenar, de reforzar la parte física, técnica y psicológica. Todo lo que hemos hecho ha sido pensando en los Juegos Olímpicos», expresó.
EL REGRESO EN 2021
En este 2021, la Reunión de Atletismo Toni Bonet se convertirá en el regreso de la venezolana a las pistas, evento que se realizará en el Estadio Can Misses de Ibiza, el 8 de mayo, escenario en el que estuvo por última vez el 29 de agosto de 2020, cuando paulatinamente se empezó a reactivar el deporte en el mundo.
«Se han suspendido muchas competencias por el tema pandemia y nosotros nos hemos adaptado a los cambios. Estamos dando lo mejor que está a nuestro alcance», añadió el medallista olímpico y entrenador de Yulimar, Iván Pedroso.
PLANIFICACIÓN
En la actualidad Yulimar se encuentra en Portugal, donde adelanta la segunda fase de su preparación con miras a su participación en los Juegos Olímpicos Tokio 2020, donde el objetivo es claro, obtener la medalla de oro y convertirse en la primera mujer en lograr el primer lugar en la cita olímpica.
La primera fase de preparación la realizó a inicios de año, en el Complejo Deportivo Villa Real de San Antonio en Portugal, después regresó a Guadalajara, España donde continuó sus entrenamientos y el 10 de abril nuevamente en Portugal, inició la segunda etapa, la cual terminará el 30 del mismo mes.
«Después de todo este ciclo olímpico tan difícil, de tantas alegrías y también las adversidades que nos ha traído la pandemia, como atleta confío en que me apoyen con las condiciones necesarias para poder llegar en óptimas condiciones a Tokyo», concretó Rojas.
Después de Ibiza, Yulimar tiene previsto participar en la Reunión Jaén Paraíso Interior de Andújar, el 22 de mayo.

CARACAS, Venezuela, April 23, 2021.– Yulimar Rojas is not only the best athlete in Venezuela but in the world in the Triple Jump modality, she is a Bolivarian, South American, Pan-American, World and Olympic medalist. She is two-time Indoor and Outdoor World Champion and three-time World Indoor Long Track Champion, and she holds the World Indoor record. She has also participated in High Jump and Long Jump tests, in which she registers personal marks of 1.87m and 6.57m respectively, in addition, her Triple Jump mark of 15.43m is currently a South American and World Indoor record, which she grabbed from the Russian Tatiana Lebedeva who since 2004 had registered 15.36m.
2020 PANDEMIC
Shortly before the start of the pandemic, on February 21, 2020, Yulimar broke the Indoor World Record, with that 15.43m, in the last meeting of the World Indoor Tour competition that took place in Madrid, Spain. But even so and with all her records, the jumping queen was no unfamiliar to the pandemic and like all athletes, she was lockdown, but in what we would call an active quarantine, where training was constant within the possible measures.
«With less than 100 days to Tokyo, it has been a very difficult year. We have not stopped training, reinforcing the physical, technical and psychological part. Everything we have done has been thinking about the Olympic Games”, she said.
THE RETURN IN 2021
In this 2021, the Toni Bonet Athletics Meeting will become the return of the Venezuelan to the tracks, an event that will be held at the Can Misses Stadium in Ibiza, on May 8, where she was last on 29 August 2020, when sport gradually began to reactivate in the world.
«Many competitions have been suspended due to the pandemic issue and we have adapted to the changes. We are doing the best we can», added Yulimar Olympic medalist and coach, Iván Pedroso.
PLANNING
Yulimar is currently in Portugal, where she is completing the second stage of her preparation ahead to her participation in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where the aim is clear, to obtain the gold medal and become the first woman to achieve the first place in the Olympic event.
The first stage of her training was carried out at the beginning of the year, at the Villa Real de San Antonio Sports Complex in Portugal, then she returned to Guadalajara, Spain where she continued her training, and on April 10 again in Portugal, the second stage began, which will end on the 30th of the same month.
«After all this difficult Olympic cycle, with so many joys and also the adversities that the pandemic has brought us, as an athlete I trust I will get help with the necessary conditions to be able to get in optimal conditions in Tokyo», stated Rojas.
After Ibiza, Yulimar plans to participate in the Jaén Paraíso Interior de Andújar Meeting, on May 22.
