SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico. Diciembre 23 de 2019.– Las raquetas Adriana Díaz, Melanie Díaz y Brian Afanador compartieron a solo pocos días del Día de la Navidad y a la espera de los Reyes Magos en el 2020 sus aspiraciones y deseos olímpicos durante la firma de autógrafos que se efectuó en San Patricio Plaza como parte de la promoción de la II edición de la Copa ITTF Panamericana Universal 2020.
Las preguntas ¿Qué le pedirás a Santa Claus? ¿Y, tienes algo para los tres Reyes Magos? a todo niño le provoca en este tiempo mágico de la Navidad una enorme sonrisa y la proyección de una ilusión inocente, que hace a los cómplices terrenales parte de ellos para que se cumplan a cabalidad.
Adriana, Brian y Melanie compartieron sus aspiraciones y deseos olímpicos, si le pueden dar una manito apoyando a Santa y los Reyes Magos, ellos seguirán brillando el próximo año.
Adriana, la única tenimesista hasta el momento clasificada a los Juegos Olímpicos de Tokio 2020, tuvo un listado de regalos muy peculiar. «Santa… ¡yo espero que me lo traiga!… Quiero que para el 2020 me de mucha fuerza y me de mucha perseverancia para mejorar. ¡Qué me vaya bien, es lo único que pido! Aprendí mucho de Río (Juegos Olímpicos 2016) y espero en Tokio hacer una mejor presentación. Disfrutármelo y esperar una medalla en Tokio», dijo mirando al cielo y con las manos en posición de oración.
La lista no acabó ahí para la cuádruple medallista de los Juegos Panamericanos de Lima 2019. Adriana extendió sus deseos a los Reyes Magos con pedidos especiales: «Los Reyes, ¡claro! Ellos son tres. Me tienen que traer más cosas. Sobre todo, salud, mi familia y que nunca me quite el amor por este deporte, porque es lo que amo y lo que quiero en mi vida».
Por su parte, Brian fue listo. Sabe que Santa cierra el año 2019 con enormes regalos y le pidió «mucha salud, mucha sabiduría. Realmente, en lo material yo tengo lo que necesito. Mucha salud para mi familia, para la gente de Puerto Rico». Pero… a los Reyes, que llegan el 6 de enero del 2020, le hizo un encargo olímpico. «¡Para los Reyes! Ahí voy a pedir la clasificación olímpica, porque abrimos el año con eso. Así que la clasificación olímpica sería un sueño hecho realidad. Eso es lo que quiero», expresó el olímpico de Río 2016.
Inundada en risas, Melanie trató de decir su deseo mayor «¡Ay…! Si Santa me trajera la clasificación olímpica, yo se la agradecería mucho. Yo creo que eso. Eso es lo más que yo quiero».
Para Puerto Rico también pidió, ya que su carácter humanitario es una de sus fortalezas por lo que en el Premiación Olímpica del Comité Olímpico de Puerto Rico la honraron con el premio William Miranda Marín.
«(A los Reyes Magos) les pediría felicidad y paz para Puerto Rico, que es lo más que a mí me gusta. Me gustaría que en Puerto Rico siguiéramos viviendo en un país de amor y de alegría», indicó en tono conmovedor la mayor de las cuatro hermanas Díaz González.

Adriana, Brian and Melanie shared their Olympic aspirations and desires, if they can give a hand to support Santa and the Three Wise Men, they will continue to shine next year.
Adriana, the only table tennis athlete so far qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, had a very peculiar list of gifts. «Santa… ¡I hope you bring it to me!». I want that by 2020 I will be very strong and perseverant to improve. To do good, it is the only thing I ask! I learned a lot from Rio (2016 Olympic Games) and I hope in Tokyo I can have a better performance. The list did not end there for the four-time medalist at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima. Adriana extended her wishes to the Wise Men with special requests: «The Wise Men, of course! They are three. They have to bring me more things. Above all, health, my family and that I never end my love for this sport, because it is what I love and what I want in my life».
On the other hand, Brian was smart. He knows that Santa closes the year 2019 with huge gifts and asked him «a lot of health, a lot of wisdom. Really, about the material thing I have what I need. A lot of health for my family, for the people of Puerto Rico». But … to the Wise Men, who arrive on January 6, 2020, he made an Olympic request. «For the Kings! I will ask for the Olympic qualification, because we open the year with it. So the Olympic qualification would be a dream come true. That’s what I want», said the 2016 Rio Olympian.
Flooded with laughter, Melanie tried to say her greatest wish «Oh …! If Santa brings me the Olympic qualification, I would greatly appreciate it. I think is that. That is the most I want».
For Puerto Rico, she also asked, since her humanitarian character is one of her strengths, that’s why she was honored with the William Miranda Marín Prize at the Olympic Awards of the Puerto Rican Olympic Committee.
