BOGOTÁ, Colombia, 10 de octubre de 2019.- Es un hecho. El ganador de 20 torneos de Grand Slam y 102 títulos en el ATP World Tour, estará visitando algunos países del Continente Americano, entre los que están Argentina, Chile, Colombia, México y Ecuador.
La primera presentación del suizo será en Suramérica, en Santiago de Chile el 19 de noviembre en el Movistar Arena. La segunda parada está programada para el siguiente día en el Parque Roca de Buenos Aires, Argentina donde Federer estará junto a Juan Martín del Potro. Dos días después llegará a Bogotá, Colombia, donde también estará en el Movistar Arena; el 23 del mismo mes estará en Norte América, específicamente en Ciudad de México, en la Plaza de Todos y finalmente regresará al sur del continente para presentarse en Quito el 24 de noviembre, en el Coliseo General Rumiñahui. En Santiago, Bogotá, México y Quito estará acompañado del alemán Alexander Zverev.
Para Colombia, esta será la segunda vez lo reciba y nuevamente en un evento organizado por IMLA de Colombia, y en esta oportunidad en el Movistar Arena de la capital colombiana, escenario inaugurado en 2018, el cual se adecuará con una cancha de tenis del más alto nivel para ofrecer el mejor espectáculo. Roger estará junto al alemán de 22 años Alexander Zverev, uno de los tenistas jóvenes más destacados del circuito ATP, así se confirmó en rueda de prensa en la Universidad Sergio Arboleda, la universidad oficial del evento en Bogotá.
“Tener a Roger Federer en el país es una alegría y un privilegio. Su llegada despierta una gran ilusión. Su vigencia como profesional y su carisma como ser humano hacen de él un atleta autentico que inspira. Y la aparición de Alexander Zverev en también es muy importante. Este joven jugador con gran presente y promisorio futuro ha causado sensación. Será otro regalo para los aficionados. A ellos queremos brindarles un día único que quede para siempre en la memoria”, afirmó Manuel Maté, director general de IMLA de Colombia, empresa con más de 25 años de experiencia en la organización y en la promoción de eventos deportivos, organizadora del ATP 250 Claro Open Colombia de 2013 a 2015, del ATP 250 Ecuador Open de 2015 a 2018, y de las exhibiciones ‘Nadal vs Djokovic’, ‘Federer vs Tsonga’, ‘Sharapova vs Ivanovic’ y ‘Agassi vs Sampras’, entre otros.
El tour del suizo por Sur y Norte América, será un recorrido que tal vez no se vuelva a repetir con uno de los mejores tenistas de la historia, aquel que encarna la nueva generación de este deporte en planeta. Los latinoamericanos se deleitarán con dos estilos de juego radiantes de elegancia, precisión y potencia. El de Federer, que lo ha convertido en un mito y el de Zverev, que lo ha llevado a ser el jugador más destacado no solo del NEXT Generation torneo de la ATP en el que participan tenistas menores de 21 años, sino del circuito profesional.
El palmarés de Roger, actualmente ubicado en la casilla #3 del Emirates ATP Ranking, honra el deporte. Profesional desde 1998, ha mantenido en su trayectoria una continuidad extraordinaria. En su carrera ha logrado 8 títulos de Wimbledon, 6 del Abierto de Australia, 5 del US Open y uno de Roland Garros. Otras estadísticas de alto voltaje rezan que es el más longevo en ser número uno del mundo con 36 años y 10 meses y el que más tiempo ha reinado en esa posición: 310 semanas. Además, tiene un lugar de privilegio en el Olimpo del deporte: es doble medallista de los Juegos Olímpicos: ganó oro en la modalidad de dobles en Pekín 2008 y plata en sencillos en Londres 2012.
Con más de 20 años de trayectoria en la élite, el nacido en Basilea no ha jugado nunca un torneo profesional en estas latitudes del mundo ni tiene planificado en su calendario participación alguna. Y seguramente nunca lo hará. Por eso es tan importante este regreso, recordando que estuvo por primera vez en Colombia en 2012 en exhibición junto al francés Jo-Wilfred Tsonga, encuentro organizado también por IMLA de Colombia. Será la oportunidad para verlo en acción y en plena vigencia, motivado por regalarle al público parte de su magia.

Por su parte, Zverev, a su corta edad, ya ha conquistado 11 títulos en la élite, entre los que se destacan los ATP Masters 1000 de Madrid, Roma y Montreal y las Nitto ATP Finals de Londres en 2018, en el que en venció a Novak Djokovic. Hoy ocupa la casilla #6 del Emirates ATP Finals. En 2017 alcanzó el puesto #3 del ranking, hasta ahora su mejor posición en el escalafón.
Dentro de su visita a Colombia, Roger participará en un conversatorio abierto al público general y al sector corporativo y empresarial. Hablará, entre otros temas, de su vida, de la marca que se ha creado en torno a su nombre, del éxito a la hora de conformar equipos de trabajo y del liderazgo y de los valores que lo han llevado a ser uno de los hombres más influyentes del mundo y una leyenda del deporte. Además, se realizarán clínicas de tenis, en las que grandes y chicos. y mujeres y hombres, serán alumnos por unas horas de los mejores entrenadores y docentes que puedan existir.
Hay oportunidades que se presentan una sola vez en la vida. Federer vs. Zverev, en el Duelo histórico en tierra de campeones, es una de ellas.

“His Majesty” Roger Federer on tour in the American Continent

BOGOTÁ, Colombia, October 10, 2019.- It is confirmed. The
winner of 20 Grand Slam tournaments and 102 titles in the ATP World Tour, will
be visiting some countries of the American Continent, and Argentina, Chile,
Colombia, Mexico and Ecuador are among them.
The first presentation of the Swiss will be in South America, in Santiago,
Chile on 19th November at the Movistar Arena. The second stop is scheduled for
the next day at the Roca Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina where Federer will be
accompanied by Juan Martín del Potro. Two days later he will arrive in Bogotá,
Colombia, where he will also be at the Movistar Arena; On the 23rd of the same
month, he will in North America, more exactly in Mexico City, at the Plaza de
Todos, then he will return to the south of the continent to end his tour in

Roger’s tour by South and North America, will be one that may not be repeated
with one of the best tennis players in history, the one that embodies the new
generation of this sport on the planet. Latin Americans will delight with two
radiant play styles of elegance, precision and power. The one of Federer, that
has made him a myth and that of Zverev, which has led him to be the most
prominent player not only of the NEXT Generation ATP tournament, in which
players under 21 years of age participate, but also at the professional
circuit.
Roger’s honors, currently number 3 of the Emirates ATP Ranking, honors the
sport. Professional since 1998, he has maintained extraordinary continuity in
his career. He has won 8 Wimbledon titles, 6 Australian Open, 5 US Open and 1
Roland Garros. Other high statistics say that it is the longest aged to be #1
in the world with 36 years and 10 months and the one that has reigned the
longest in that position: 310 weeks. In addition, he has a privileged place in

titles, including the ATP Masters 1000 in Madrid, Rome and Montreal and the
Nitto ATP Finals in London in 2018 where beat Novak Djokovic. Today he is the
#6 of the Emirates ATP Finals. In 2017, he reached #3 in the world, so far his
best position in the ranking.
Within his visit to Colombia, Roger will participate in an open talk with to
the general public and the corporate and business sector. He will talk, among
other topics, about his life, the brand that has been created around his name,
the success of forming work teams and leadership and about the values that have
led him to be one of the most influential men in the world and a sports legend.
In addition, tennis clinics will be held, in which adults and children, women
and men will be ‘students’ of the best coaches and teachers that may exist.
There are opportunities that arise only once in a lifetime. Federer vs. Zverev,
in the Historic Duel in the Land of Champions, is one of them.
