BOGOTÁ, Colombia, 17 de agosto de 2017.- El continente Americano estará presente en la primera edición de los Roller Games, con la participación de Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia y Estados Unidos. La Federación Colombiana de Patinaje, actual campeona de los Juegos Mundiales, Wroclaw 2017, presentó la delegación nacional que estará participando en estos Roller Games, evento que reunirá del 26 de agosto al 10 de septiembre, todos los Mundiales de los Deportes sobre Ruedas del Patinaje. Esta primera edición se realizará en Nanjing, China, y acogerá aproximadamente a 4.000 atletas de más de 100 países, además ya se eligió a Barcelona como sede para el 2019.
Nanjing tendrá 7 sedes para la realización de este mundial que durará 15 días, además se competirá en 110 eventos que entregarán 1.098 medallas.

Una de las mayores novedades se dará en el Hockey SP, el cual tendrá una competencia más equilibrada entre equipos con nivel similar, los cuales han sido ubicados de acuerdo con su ranking en el mundial inmediatamente anterior.
En la categoría sénior masculina, participarán 23 equipos y se disputarán tres campeonatos; Copa Mundial, Copa FIRS y Copa Confederaciones. La categoría sénior femenina contará con 12 equipos en contienda y la júnior sub-20 con 13, estas categorías jugarán la Copa Mundial y la Copa FIRS.
El sistema del campeonato de mayores cambiará las reglas de juego drásticamente dejando solo 8 países, cuando antes se conformaba de 16 equipos en la A y los otros competían en la B.
COPA MUNDIAL: están ubicados los 8 mejores equipos del mundial de 2015.
Copa FIRS: es la categoría intermedia, en la que están las selecciones que se encuentran en el ranking 9 al 16, las cuales, para lograr estar entre los mejores 8 del Mundo, deberán ganar la primera fase de su grupo.
Copa Confederaciones: es la que disputarán los otros equipos inscritos.
Para la segunda fase de la Copa Mundial clasificarán los tres primeros equipos de este torneo, y los acompañarán las dos primeras selecciones de la Copa FIRS para jugar encuentros cruzados desde cuartos de final hasta la final. A la segunda fase de la Copa FIRS llegarán los dos últimos equipos de la Copa Mundial y disputarán el título con juegos de muerte súbita desde cuartos de final hasta finales.

Colombia participará en 7 de las 10 disciplinas convocadas, (8 oficiales y dos invitacionales) Patinaje de Carreras, Artístico, Hockey en Línea, Hockey Sobre Patín, y las nuevas tendencias urbanas representadas en esta ocasión por el Roller Freestyle, Inline Freestyle y el Donwhill, la delegación estará conformada por más de 150 personas entre deportistas, delegados, periodistas y cuerpos técnicos y médicos.

AMÉRCIA WILL BE PRESENT AT THE I WORLD ROLLER GAMES

BOGOTÁ, Colombia, 17 August, 2017.- The American continent will be present at the first edition of the Roller Games, with Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and the United States.
The Colombian Skating Federation, current World Champion at the Wroclaw World Games 2017, presented its national team that will be taking part in these Roller Games, competition that will gather from 26th August to 10th September, all the World Championships of the Roller Skating Sports. This first edition will be held in Nanjing, China and will host approximately 4.000 athletes from over 100 countries; also Barcelona has been unveiled as the venue for the second edition in 2019.
Nanjing will have 7 venues for this Games that will last 15 days; it will have competitions in 110 events that will deliver 1,098 medals.
One of the biggest changes will be in Ring Hockey which will have a more balanced competition between teams with similar level; those teams have been placed according to the ranking gained in the last World Championship.
23 countries will be participating in the senior men’s category, they will compete in three championships; World Cup, FIRS Cup and Confederations Cup. The senior female category will have 12 teams and the junior U-20, 13; those last two will play the World Cup and the FIRS Cup.
The senior championship system will dramatically change the rules of the game; now it will have only 8 countries, when previously it was 16 teams in Group A while the other were competing in Group B.
WORLD CUP: the 8 best teams of the 2015 World Cup are located in this group.
FIRS CUP: it is the intermediate category, the national teams in the rankings 9 to 16 are part of this, for those to be among the best 8 in the World, must win the first round of their group.
CONFEDERATIONS CUP: this will be played by the other teams registered at the competition.
For the second round of the WORLD CUP, the qualifiers will be the first three teams, along with the first two countries of the FIRS CUP, to play crossed-matches from the quarter-finals to the final. The last two teams from the WORLD CUP will join the second round of the FIRS CUP and will play for the title with games of direct elimination from quarter-finals to the finals.
